Shop: The Museum Gift shop is open during museum hours and stocks a range of souvenirs and related reading material.
Toilets: Toilets are available onsite, including disabled toilet.

Café: No cafe is available.

Wheelchair access is available throughout the museum and gift shop. For more information, please contact the museum.

Parking: The Museum does not have its own car park. There is limited street parking around the site, but please be aware of time limits. Nearest parking facilities are available at the Spiral car park, just a few minutes walk away.

Our wide range of collections can support work across the school curriculum including, Ipswich at War, Journeys in Ancient Egypt and handling boxes.

We can provide visiting school groups with a variety of workshops. Costs vary. Details can be found on www.cimuseums.org.uk/, contact a Learning Officer on 01473 433570 or email bookings.information@colchester.gov.uk.
A lunch room/education room is available for use by visiting groups, if booked in advance.

Loan boxes are available from Ipswich Museum:
Borrow one of our loan boxes to bring objects from the past into your classroom.  Use them to inspire children’s imagination at the start of a project, develop their thinking and enquiry skills or support post-visit work.  Boxes contain a mix of replica and real objects, photos, documents and teachers notes.

Loan boxes are hired per half term at a cost of £20 plus £10 refundable deposit (per half term).  All loan boxes must be collected and returned to the museum.  Please call 01473 433570 and talk to a Learning Officer.
