Rich in heritage and natural beauty, Suffolk is a wonderful county to explore. Getting to know it is a journey of discovery. From coast to Constable country; mansion to moot hall, airfield to Anglo Saxon settlement, Suffolk wears its past on its sleeve, if you know where to look.

And where better to start than at one of the local museums that appear on this site? From railway to fishing trawler there are more than 50 of them and they come in all shapes and sizes. Each is full of fascinating objects and stories that help to put flesh on the bones of history, from prehistoric times to the computer age.

Whether your interest is in fine arts or farming; sailors’ knots or Saxon burials; tramways or timber-framed buildings; aircraft or archaeology; regimental history or horse racing, there’s something for everyone.
